Seatsport Toledo Super 2000 BTCC – JASON PLATO/ROB HUFF Chassis 008.
This is a rare opportunity to purchase a works built and run BTCC car raced by non-other than BTCC champion Jason Plato and WTCC champion Rob Huff. This car has been fully refreshed with a zero hours engine & gearbox and completely re-painted.
FIA S2000 specification cars beginning in 2004, SEAT got the ball rolling early with their SEAT Toledo. The manufacturer-backed outfit entered three S2000 cars that season, with Jason Plato taking a highly impressive seven victories in 30 races. Rob Huff in his first season racing in the BTCC won his first race at Bands Hatch in this car. Unfortunately, Plato had a massive crash in his car (chassis #007) and the car was written off and never raced again. However, as number one driver Plato was given the race winning Rob Huff car (Chassis #008) for the remaining 2004/2005 seasons.
This car would make appearances for many years to come under the hands of various teams including David Bartrum’s Motorbase Performance and Chris Stockton’s BTC Racing and would be driven by the likes of Tom Ferrier, Gareth Howell and truck racer Stuart Oliver. Finally, being retiring by Mr Gow in early 2010 for being ‘too old’ even though they were still highly competitive.
This Huff/Plato car sits in its original Works SeatSport colours having been given written permission to wear the infamous yellow and silver colour scheme by the head of Seat directly. It currently sits in the later NGTC turbo specification with the work’s Lehmann engine. However, it comes with the N/A engine parts so could also be run in either specification if so desired. It also runs the latest SeatSport Spec, benefiting from all the updates that continued to arrive from the WTCC cars that were factory run much later than in the BTCC. This was the key to why the Toledo’s remained so competitive for so long.
This car comes complete with the entire Work’s BTCC spares package, it has a monstrous number of spares. It includes all you will ever need to run this car and rebuild and replace all the major components and wear items. It also comes with the complete documented history, with every test, qualification and race set up sheets for its BTCC history.
This is a great opportunity to buy a piece of BTCC history and a sure financial investment, it won’t be long before these S2000 spec cars are running in with the historic’s. Goodwood and Silverstone Classic are not too far away at all!
For a full list of the spares package, please feel to contact me and I will email a list over.
Offers invited based on £65,000 for the car and spares.
